Bachelors of Science - Industrial Engineering Emphasis

The industrial engineering emphasis area of engineering management focuses on productivity improvement and system optimization for manufacturing and service organizations.  This emphasis area includes a variety of quantitative and qualitative techniques to identify potential improvements in productivity, quality, safety, and other areas.  This emphasis area prepares students for positions such as process engineer, project manager, quality engineer, safety engineer, supply chain manager, operations manager, and consulting.

Required Course Work
Students working towards an engineering management degree with an emphasis in industrial engineering must complete 12 hours of the following course requirements:

  • EMGT 4310 (257) Materials Handling And Plant Layout

  • EMGT 4330 (311) Human Factors

  • EMGT 5410 (356) Industrial System Simulation

  • EMGT 5414 (382) Introduction To Operations Research
